French, single mother of two, imperfect environmentalist
and founder of Bareaya.
Originally, I was simply looking for more sustainable alternatives for my daily life in a zero-waste approach.
For a long time, I shaved with commercial multi-blade razors. And like many people, I experienced irritation , burns , and ingrown hairs .
I thought it was normal. That shaving was bound to be uncomfortable.
Discovering the plastic-free safety razor changed everything. A single blade, fewer strokes on the skin, and above all… no more irritation . A revelation!
For the first time, shaving was no longer a chore. It became a simple, gentle, almost obvious gesture — and that's what inspired me to create Bareaya.
A brand born in 2018, centered around an everyday gesture
From the outset, we made a strong choice: to design a unisex safety razor , designed for all people who shave, without distinction.
At the time, this did not exist in France. Safety razors were often very gendered, with a retro chrome design, and not very accessible.
Designing a razor was a real challenge. I worked with a designer, explored many avenues, tested prototypes, and adjusted every detail — the weight, the balance, the grip, the safety of the blade — until I created the ideal razor, down to the millimeter .
It was a completely new world for me. But I was driven by a deep conviction: to make the safety razor more accessible and encourage more people to adopt it .
From day one, it has captivated tens of thousands of you.
Today, Bareaya
Today, Bareaya remains first and foremost a sustainable shaving brand.
Around this universe, we also develop everyday essentials, such as hand-crafted solid soaps, or durable accessories, always with the same requirement: usefulness, simplicity and durability.
Bareaya is a small, independent brand, run by a single person, with the desire to do things well, on their own scale. A simple and honest approach.
Without making anyone feel guilty. Without overpromising.
